Hey there!
I was born and raised in PA and spent my high school days working on a horse farm, pole vaulting, and spending late nights with my friends around bon fires + swimming pools. Before track, I was a competitive gymnast for 12 years addicted to seeing what my body was capable of and obsessed with the feeling of mastering a new skill.
Most people had no idea at the time...
But I was struggling with anxiety, occasional panic attacks, and continual digestive issues. When I got to college, I hit a breaking point with my digestion. It was starting to rule my life and I HAD to find answers on how to troubleshoot my symptoms.
I did what I thought was best at the time and went to a gastroenterologist to get checked out. I was diagnosed with gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining), IBS and had multiple benign polyps. I was sent home with antacids and told to consider going on SSRI's to calm my anxious stomach. I remember thinking, "but WHY is my stomach inflamed? WHY am I anxious? WHAT is causing all of this? I didn't always used to feel this way..."
I was ready to give up on my digestion + anxiety, but then...
I decided to go to a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and was taught for the first time how the food we eat + how our digestive systems ability to absorb that food sets the tone for our entire health landscape. It literally changed my life- and my health- forever.
While addressing my own health issues naturally and noticing immense progress, I was getting my BS in Global Public Health + Nutrition. Everything changed when I took a solo trip to work overseas at an International Research Center in Dhaka, Bangladesh at age 20. Among many eye-opening experiences, I spent my time working with women and children in the Nutrition Rehabilitation Unit where I did a case study on the effects of severe malnutrition caused by diarrheal disease in children up to 5 years old and the incredible healing power of zinc therapy + ORS (oral rehydration solution).
That's when I realized my immense persistence + joy in uncovering the root cause of health challenges
The combination of my own personal experiences with nutrition supporting my digestion AND watching nutrition revive children in acute health settings sealed the deal for me: nutrition was what I'd spend the rest of my life committed to.
I skyrocketed myself into completing my Nutritional Therapy Practitioner certification and set out to build a business grounded in educating others (so people could understand WHY they felt the way they felt) and empowering others to take charge of their own health.
Fast forward 5 years, a shit ton of seminars and more certifications, hundreds of clients, and tens of thousands reached across my social media channels - I'm still on fire for nutrition and lit up about all things business + personal growth.
