Last weekend I had the pleasure of hosting an AMAZING ‘Love Your Gut’ event with Natural Grocers here in Denver, Colorado. The event was sold out and it was SO damn awesome to meet some of my followers in person! Since I spend most of my days talking on my phone and typing up blog posts it was so nice to see some faces, connect with people in person, and answer ALL the questions everyone had about digestion face-to-face instead of on Instagram Stories.
During the event (and in the recording at the bottom of this post) guests heard from myself and Shelby Miller who is the Nutrition Research and Education Director at Natural Grocers. Pretty much what Shelby does is keep up to date on the latest nutrition research and then educates all of the nutrition health coaches at every location of natural grocers around the country. She is wicked smart, and one of the sweetest humans I’ve ever met.
Highlights of The Event:
When walking into the event space, the first thing guests saw was a HUGE line of reusable Natural Grocers bags filled with over $100 of FREE products from some of my favorite companies! Everyone who reserved a ticket ahead of time received one of these goodie bags to take home with them.
After snagging free product bags, guests walked over to a super cute table staffed by Health Ade Kombucha where Caroline (the sweetest rep ever) was busy making DELICIOUS kombucha mocktails! Guests received drinks mixed with basil, mint, fresh berries, and the choice of any Health Ade Kombucha flavor they wanted- including the NEW Jalapeño-kiwi-cucumber! They were delicious AF.
There was also a huge table full of snacks and savory bites from Just BE Kitchen, my absolute FAVE paleo cafe. Guests got to enjoy:
- LIGHT: Grain-Free hummus, garlic and served with Siete Tortialla chips from Natural Grocer Chips
- FAITH: Chicken Salad with cauliflower mayo, almonds, red onion
- LIFTED: Chia Seed Pudding, grain-free granola, fresh-fruit
AND! There was a social media giveaway on the Natural Grocers Instagram account. One lucky person won some free swag from Health Ade and a $50 gift card to Natty G’s!
Topics Discussed At The Event:
- How digestion is supposed to work
- The common dysfunction I see often with the digestive process with clients
- Why stomach acid is good for you
- What causes bloating, acid reflux, inflammation, etc.
- What exactly is LEAKY GUT?
- What you can do today to optimize your digestion with supplements and whole-foods.
- The difference between prebiotics + probiotics
- SO MUCH MORE!… Literally, because everyone had amazing questions at the end!
I think you will all be wow’ed at some of the information shared, especially the part about stomach acid and why it’s good for you. I remember when I was going through the NTP program I was absolutely shocked to learn about the proper physiology of the digestive system, and the part about stomach acid blew my mind.
Thank You’s
After the event I was able to spend about 30-60 minutes walking around and mingling with everyone. It absolutely blows my mind that there are so many of you who enjoy following me on my blog and instagram. It’s just INSANE to me. I couldn’t be more grateful to have such an awesome, authentic platform to share nutrition education with all of you. Thank you for your trust in me and enjoying my brutally honest, take-it-or-leave-it approach to life and health.
I want to give a BIG shoutout to Natural Grocers just to say THANK YOU for trusting in me and choosing to partner with me. Hey girl!
Can you explain a little more of your partnership with NG? I’m guessing events like these are part of that partnership… would love to know what else 🙂
Thanks!!
