Simplifying the complex world of functional nutrition

I am SO EXCITED to finally publish this blog post! I am asked literally every day on Instagram about the Nutritional Therapy Practitioner program- and as promised- I finally have a video review for you all to watch!

This program is the foundation of everything that I do from 1-1 client sessions, to the information I share on my blog + Instagram, to what I practice every day in my own life for optimal health + longevity. I couldn’t possibly put into words how grateful I am for the Nutritional Therapy Association and the NTP program– it has truly CHANGED MY LIFE. This program has not only taught me infinite information about the human body + how it is supposed to function, but it has given me the ability to have the freedom of owning my own business, to being able to change so many people’s lives, and to be incredibly excited about my career each and every single day.

I’ve had numerous questions from plenty of my followers and hope I did a good job at answering most of your questions in this video! If you have more questions for me, please post them in the comments and I’ll get back to you ASAP! Chances are, if you have a question, someone else is probably thinking the same thing- so please don’t be shy! I’d love to give you guys all the info you need! If you have a more personal question to ask and don’t want to post it publicly in the comments, feel free to fill out a contact form and we can chat 1-1.

In this video you’ll hear:

  • A little about my story
  • Why I decided to become an NTP
  • Some of the other programs I considered
  • What you can expect if you decide to be an NTP
  • What the NTP education looks like, how much it costs, and how long it takes
  • Whether or not I felt ready to take clients right after becoming an NTP

If you decide you want to become an NTP, remember to write down Caitlin Crowell (me) as your referral on your application!

Caitlin what a great informative video!!! Although I’m not going to be doing the NTP program I find all of this so interesting and at the old age of 55 I am learning valuable information from you that I am trying to incorporate into my life. I love how enthusiastic you are and it shows how much you love your career. A big thank you for the video!!! I know your parents are so proud of you. ❤️

Thank you so much Laurie! You could totally do the program if you wanted to 😉 people do it without business ideas in mind, solely to gain more nutrition knowledge. Thank you so much for all of your kind words. Hope you are doing well! <3

Thank you for this! I’ve been contemplating the NTP program for awhile and I’ve been so nervous about starting. But I know its something I need to do. I’m planning to start in the Feb 2018 group! Your video helped answer some of the questions I had that were making me hesitant. 🙂 Thanks for all the great info you put out there – I follow you on Instagram as well (and FB, but I see more on Insta).

Hey Stephani! Thanks so much for the feedback! I’m happy I was able to answer some questions for you 🙂 feel free to reach out if you ever have any more questions about the program! Thanks for following along with me!

    Hey Caitlin,
First off I wanna commend you on your passion for helping others. Many people are in need of nutrition guidance. What worries me is that you may have the wrong idea of registered dietitians. As an RD myself, I understand what you’re saying regarding MyPlate – it seems as though we are “preaching” the governments guidelines. I assure you that not all RDs follow what the USDA/FDA recommendations, nor are we sponsored by any agricultural company. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics does have affiliation with certain companies but you don’t have to be a member of the academy to be an RD – I’m not. All I hope is that all nutrition professionals build each other up rather than criticizing without a full understanding. I believe both you and I share similar passions in helping others through a proper diet.
    Thank you,
    Andie

      Andie,

Thanks for your comment! I never meant to hinder the work that you do as an RD. Just wanted to convey that the education path of the RD program wasn’t for me so I chose something different that better aligned with my beliefs and prior knowledge. You’re right- our passion is the same though our education may be very different! You personally may not be promoting governmental regulations and poor nutrition recommendations, but many RD’s do and HAVE to if they are working in a hospital setting or otherwise. I have many friends who are RD’s who have experienced this and had many professors in college that were RD’s as well that shared some pretty horrid information.

To each their own- I wish you all the best!
      -C.
